Englisch Communication Skills (B1/B2)  B1/B2 Englisch Linden oder Bismarckstraße Semesterkurs

Let's Get Talking!

Who's calling, please? The first part of this seminar will give you a solid basis for telephone communication in English: useful phrases, vocabulary, listening and speaking practice.

E-Mail Writing

LOL, but not here! You will learn how to formulate e-mails to make a good impression, not just send cryptic messages to your buddies! Style is the element here, and - believe it or not - is still important in the business world today. A comprehensive business vocabulary list is included.

Job Application Training

Get the job you want! More and more German-speaking people are applying for jobs in English, either to work abroad or for a company in their own country that has English as its official language. In the first part of this block you will learn how to write a covering letter and make sure that your curriculum vitae (or resumé) is up to date. The second part of this module will deal with everything you need to know about job interviews. This will make it easier for you to apply for jobs in English - and get the job you really want.

Meetings

Fine-tune your meeting skills, and learn how to write agendas and minutes in this block. A mini-meeting will be part of this session.

Negotiations

You will be preparing negotiation strategies, organizing dates and details by phone, and carrying out a real negotiation meeting, formulating e-mails as memos to summarize the discussion.

E-Mail Writing
Most business and private communication in English takes place nowadays through relatively short message systems, the most common in offices being email. On day two we will concentrate on this aspect of business communication with exercises and tips on how to formulate your messages depending on purpose and  level of formality. A written email will be your test at the end of this day.

Job Application Training

Get the job you want! More and more German-speaking people are applying for jobs in English, either to work abroad or for a company in their own country that uses English as its official language. On this day we will deal with some basic dos and donts concerning applications and writing our individual CVs (Curriculum Vitae) in English on our laptops in the morning session. The afternoon will be devoted to job interviews, with phrases, practice and discussions about what makes a good interview. This will make it easier for you to apply for jobs in English - and get the job you really want. A short free-speaking exercise will be the test here.

Meetings

Fine-tune your meeting skills, and learn how to write agendas and minutes in this fourth block, using various exercises to solidify your knowledge. A mini-meeting will be part of this session, and free-writing will be the test.

Negotiations
